Jonothan Chappell

M.S. Student (2nd Year)

About me

Jonothan’s research focuses on the Diamond Joe pluton, a porphyry copper deposits located within the Hualapai Mountains in Northwest Arizona along the Basin and Range province. His focus is on understanding the paragenetic sequence of events in the pluton as well as understanding the hydrothermal and magmatic hydrothermal veins which often are the host of mineralization. This past year, he has used geochronology, petrography, bulk rock and trace element geochemistry, and electron microprobe analysis to analyze his samples. Jonothan has also been helping to TA for various geoscience courses and He is also serving this year as the president of GeoClub, and has helped to plan several field trips and events for the graduate students at UArizona.
