Project Description

Supervisor: Dr. Mark Barton

My project focuses on characterizing the mineral content of Arizona Cu mine tailings. This will aid in assessing the viability of future mine processing/reprocessing of ores to more fully extract potential resources and aid in fixing the gaps in US critical minerals supplies. I am also working on the characterization of the content of lithophile element deposits, which, while historically untapped, represent another potential avenue of addressing US critical mineral supplies.
