About 

Greetings! I am a PhD student currently studying molybdenite-bearing porphyry systems and porphyry-associated skarns. My goal is to enable us to develop a more advanced understanding of how these systems form and evolve over time to better facilitate their exploitation. 

Other interests outside my specific research focus include carbonatite-hosted REE deposits and the metallurgy/processing of various REE ores. Beyond geosciences, my interests include organic synthesis, precision manufacturing, and metrology. Previous professional experience was in the environmental consulting industry, primarily providing Phase I and Phase II ESAs, as well as monitoring and technical work on active remediation sites.

Project Description

Project Title: Rhenium Abundance in Porphyry-Derived Molybdenite, Crystal Polytypes and Trace Element Distribution (working title)

I am currently working with molybdenite samples collected from several active mining sites across the American Southwest. I am investigating possible relationships between crystal polytype or disordered crystal structures and the abundance of trace elements within the lattice, with a particular focus on rhenium.
