Eytan Bos Orent
About
Eytan Bos Orent obtained his BS in Geology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2019, immediately after which he joined the Economic Geology program at the University of Arizona. He earned his MS in Geosciences in 2021 and since then has been working towards a PhD studying basin-related ore deposits (U, V, Cu, Ag, Mn) on the Colorado Plateau.
Education:
2021 - MS in Geosciences, University of Arizona
2019 - BS in Geology, University of Texas at Austin
Project Description
Supervisor: Dr. Mark Barton
Project Title: Contrasting fluid systems associated with basin-related ore deposits
Much of Eytan's work is field-based, involving alteration mapping at multiple scales to unravel the spatial relationships between basinal fluids, ore deposits, geologic structures, and more. The results of his fieldwork are integrated with laboratory analyses such as U-Pb geochronology of carbonates, optical/electron microscopy, conventional stable isotopes (C, O), and in-situ trace element mapping in various minerals.
