About me

I have known I have wanted to be a geologist since 5th grade, and while my interests within this field have varied over the years, I have now settled into economic geology, and have career goals of working in the mining industry post-graduate. I am a huge mineral collector with a wide collection, and as of recently, I have a green thumb for growing a large variety of cacti, succulents, and desert plants.

Project Description

Supervised by Dr. Marta Codeço and Dr. Mark Baron
Characterization of Alteration and Mineralization in the Sanchez Deposit, Safford District, Arizona (Working Title)
My project involves characterizing the alteration and mineralization in the Sanchez deposit, Safford District, Arizona, working alongside Freeport-McMoRan. The characterization will involve using petrography alongside geochemical techniques such as laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electron probe micro analyzer (EPMA), and laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS), and compare the results of these techniques in order to construct the paragenetic sequence at Sanchez.
